So finally the time has come to say Good bye to Kuwait. Two and a half years here already and it seems like yesterday.

I must say, it was a place that I would remember for a long time. Made some really good friends here whom I would cherish for the rest of my life. Another thing that I would remember about Kuwait are the frequent weekend trips that I made from this place. Air tickets here were cheap ;) and perhaps you could go to any other neighbouring country every other weekend. It's one of those place where you are waiting for the weekend to come so as to plan more trips and see more places.

Had the pleasure of staying with different kinds of people during all my days here and it was fun. Something that I did not like about the place were the frequent dust storms hihi.

If I make a list of things that I would take back from here, it would be like this :-

• Friends (Neeraj, Kartik, Ruhain, Taran, Anshuman, Hashim, Anil, Satinder ... and the list goes on)
• That one awesome trip to Bahrain (was fun to be with Neeraj and Kartik)
• Weekend cooking - Yakhni was yummy :P (We will cook it next time in India Ruhain :) )
• Teen Patti (It was fun to be with Hashim and gang)
• Weight loss story (Would remember Taran ;) )
• The airport saga (It was fun to be with Sourabh as well)
• The boose (Thanks SP )
• Sky diving Challenge (Anil lets do it again sometime)
• Fun in the office (Everyone in the office.. hihih )
• And more..  oops censored ;)

Fear Factor -- Sky Diving
So, this was something that I wanted to try out for sometime now. Sounds pretty scary but worth taking a risk.

Yup, I'm taking about tandem sky diving. This is one of the basic techniques to learn sky diving, and to have a bit of extreme fun as well ;). After already having missed two of my earlier shots at it, this time I was a bit prepared I must say. Over here in the middle east, I could find just one place where it was possible. Its in a place called Umm al-Quwain, that's around 100 kms from Dubai. Should take you around 1.5 hours to reach there depending on the traffic. And located there is a small air club called UAQ Aero Club.

Ok. So, it took us (Anil and me), sometime to reach the place. During that time I reckon my mind was filled with thoughts on weather I should try it or not.. But then, you don't look back once you have made up your mind .. rite.

Probably, the worst thing that happened was at the time of filling up the forms for this thing. Did I mention that you need to fill up like a 10 page legal declaration that you are not insane. heheh

After declaring that we were not as insane as we looked, we made our way to the air field. Within minutes, we saw a girl landing after the jump. She was scared to death and about to weep. Of course, that scared the shit out of me as well.

Okie, somehow again we got our act together, and I was the next one to go. So, after being set up with a Tandem master, I was guided through roughly 10-15 mins of ground prepration. Of course, it didn't include anything on what to do in case things go wrong, hehe, you'll land somewhere up rather than down in that case anyhow ;)

After the  quick training and buckling up the equipment , it was time to go out to the plane.


The plane then ferried us (me, the tandem master and another diver who would take the video) to the required altitude.I reckon it would have been more than 10,00 feet above the ground. It took us around 15-20 minutes to get there which of course gave me more time to think about what I'm doing..


Ok, then the pilot gave the first warning .. that we were approaching the jump point. The tandem master then tightened straps around me. I was feeling like I had another individual strapped tightly to my back. The other diver then opened the plane door. Man.. the gush of air made me rethink one last time. Before I could think what to do, the tandem master told me to step to the edge of the door.. HOLY SH*** !! Frannkly my heart began to drop and I could feel my balls in my throat.. hahahah

And suddenly, I was rushing down in mid air with the ground suddenly rushing up to meet me. The feeling of being on a blanket of air washed everything away. Its something that you can't explain. You'll have to do it to understand ;)

After around 20-30 seconds of free fall, the tandem master opened the straps of the parachute. Wooooooh !! and Up you go.. Thats a feeling that I can't forget !!

The glide down lasted for around 5-10 mins, and yup.. I managed to manoeuver the parachute as well. It looks like a different world when you are up there, especially if you are close to the sea with all the creeks. It looks like you are slowly zooming into a Google earth map in real time :)

The excitement ended after I made a safe landing. .hehe..
